One of the hardest things about being a Christian is that we have a foot in
two camps – a foot in two different worlds even! We live for Christ. But at
the same time we work in a world with different priorities. We are pulled in
two different directions.
This can be an incredibly uncomfortable position!
So how do we do this? How do we live with two competing agendas without
compromising our faith and without becoming a hermit?
The “Course of your life” is a series of studies that was written for this
very purpose. The author – Tony Payne – wrote the course to challenge us to
see that God’s way actually works all the time. He takes us to the Bible to
show us how God’s Word can provide a course for our lives.
Ready for a personal revolution? Join us on Sunday nights as we take
discipleship to the next level – 24/7!

The Christian life is all about Jesus. And Jesus is all about mission!
Jesus described his own preaching as “the good news of the kingdom of God.”
He had good news. He expected this good news to make us happy. And he wanted
us happy ones to pass it on.
But for some reason we don’t all have the same joy from knowing the Gospel .
let alone the kind of joy that compels us to pass it on! Are we missing
something? Have we perhaps forgotten something vital?
This term we are going to look under the bonnet of mission. What is mission?
How has it touched us? And how does mission shape how we live here and now?
Join us on Sunday mornings as we experience the “good” in the good news.
Come and let it captivate us afresh. And continue with us as we let the
mission of our Saviour Jesus shape the whole of our lives.

tolerance: sympathy or indulgence for the beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one’s own. (Webster Dictionary)

In other words you are tolerant if you can live in harmony with someone else when they have different beliefs to you. You can agree to disagree – and still be nice to each other.

Sounds good. In fact I like that idea a lot. And so does the rest of the world it seems. It seems that in this day and age you can’t appeal to a higher principle than tolerance. And you can’t make a worse accusation than “intolerant”!

The funny thing is that our beloved tolerance is not really tolerance. We’re really only good at tolerating a view if it is only slightly different to our own. We’re terrible at tolerating a view that claims to be the only view. And we cannot tolerate a view if it tries to impose truth on us even when we don’t hold to it.

So, as a Christian I’m in the hot seat!

But what if I’m right? What if people like Luke (writer of the Gospel of Luke) really did accurately describe a man called Jesus? And what if Jesus really did say and do the things these people claimed he did?

They were eye witnesses. They claim they wanted you to know the truth. People are still listening to and trusting what they say. Are you a little interested?

Come to church and I’ll do my best to explain why I believe what I do and why I think you should too!

Pastor Rob

Luke wrote his account of Jesus’ life for a reason. He wanted you to have the confidence to trust Jesus … with your life. And he wanted you to know what it means to follow Jesus. Luke has a full disclosure policy.

The trouble is that no matter what we hear we still want what we want.

So we take bits of Jesus – the bits that we like the sound of. We cobble them together into an ‘identikit’ version of what we could follow. A Jesus who saves us in the ways we want him to and who doesn’t ask things of us that we don’t want to give. But in the process we lose sight of the real Jesus. And we lose access to the rich promises he makes.

Join us at Night Church as we discover afresh the real Jesus … and devote ourselves to following the way that he wants us to.

How do we start well? How do we grow strong? How do we last long?

These are the things that every church struggles with at some point. We want our church to be established on firm foundations. We want it to grow healthy. And we want our church to endure like the Gospel has endured.

Paul writes to Timothy to help him strengthen the church in Ephesus. And he gives Timothy the one principle that will do all these things: “Keep the main thing the main thing!”

It’s not rocket science. It’s simple really. But it’s so hard to do.

Join us for our Morning Church series on 1 Timothy and discover what the “main thing” is and to break down the things that get in the way of us doing it.
